Thank you for visiting Littlesmith jewellery. Here you will find answers to our most frequently asked questions.

>> What is hand stamped jewellery?

Hand stamped jewellery is the process of crafting by hand. The letters are stamped one letter at a time the old fashioned way, therefore some irregularities are consistent with this process. Giving each piece it’s individual character.

>> What metals do you use?

Littlesmith uses a variety of materials for our unique jewellery pieces.

Our Letter Bars have a brass base and our Initial Beads and all chains have a stainless steel base with Gold, SIlver, Rose Gold or Black “Ion Plating” an advanced method of plating used in the jewellery business. An affordable option to pure gold and silver. Avoid using dip cleaners, just use a cloth made for jewellery, polish and gently clean. To keep from tarnishing, please keep in a moisture free airtight bag when not wearing. Do not wear your jewellery in pools or hot tubs as the harsh chemicals will damage the finish. Please avoid the jewellery coming into contact with acne medications, self tanners and perfume. These chemicals may cause metals to loose their colour.

>> What can I stamp on the Jewellery?

You can stamp anything you like. For example names, dates, inspirational words on the Bar Necklace.

The following characters are allowed: All in uppercase. Letter A-Z, numbers 0-9, space, symbols & @ ? # ! ( ) : " , .  and ♡

Please Note: that all spaces count as characters.

>> How is it packaged?  

Each beautiful hand crafted piece is presented in a branded Littlesmith Kraft paper gift case and accompanying gift card for your message. If ordering multiple pieces, each item will be packaged separately in their own gift case.

>> How long until I receive my order? 

We offer FREE SHIPPING worldwide except for the middle east.

Your order will be dispatched within 48 hours of us receiving your order. Please note this does not include shipping time. Once your order is ready to dispatch we will send you an email to let you know it‘s on it‘s way. The time it take to receive your order from us depends on your location.

For the UK orders allow 3-5 working days.

For Ireland and EU orders allow 5-7 working days.

For International orders allow 7-15 working days, depending on your geographical location. Each countries Custom and internal mail system may also affect the time it takes to receive your order. Additional duty charges may apply for international orders. Please check with the relevant authorities if you are responsible for any duty charges.

Please keep in mind that during the busy holiday season your order can take a little longer to get to you.

>> Am I able to return?  What if there is an error with my purchase?

We are unable to issue refunds or exchanges as each piece is individually custom-made for you. In very rare circumstances where there is an error with your personalized order created by Littlesmith, we will be happy to remake your piece.

To return an item you need to contact us to get an authorization number. The original item must be return to us so we can verify the error. When returning the item please state clearly the reason for the return and highlight the error in your message. Please ensure we are able to track your return.

>> How do I measure the chain length?

The length of chain is measured by the actual length of the chain not where it falls on your body.

For example: To work out how you would like a 16” chain to sit on your body get a piece of string and measure 16” with a ruler or tape measure. Cut the string and then loop it round your neck. Letting it fall on either side. This allows you to work out where it falls on your body. For the Bar Necklace the chain will measure the length stated, with the personalised Bar sliding horizontally on the chain. If you choose to have the Personalised Bar hanging vertically the bar length will add length to the necklace chain.

Our chain lengths are available in the following lengths and available on our order page for you to choose from. The chain lengths may vary depending on each individual style.

If you wish to have a different chain length to the one’s stated on the order page please state clearly the length you would like in the “Additional Instructions” box on the order page.

>> What if I order the wrong length chain?

If you need to exchange your chain please contact us within 7 days from date of receiving your necklace. We will be able to provide further instructions.
